Paul’s lifelong work with psychohistory has been unprecedented and exemplary. He is the “Godfather of psychohistorians.” He has conducted the Psychohistory Forum since 1982 and has been the publisher of Clio’s Psyche since 1994. Both of these are admirable achievements.

Paul also is a colleague who willingly shares his knowledge and expertise with others. We became acquainted a few years ago when he encouraged my contribution to Clio’s Psyche. This has been fortuitous for me; I have learned a lot from him. Recently, he contributed something to me in a very personal way by helping me

navigate a difficult situation with a colleague. I will eternally be very grateful for his assistance.

I am an avid reader of each issue of Clio’s Psyche. The articles are interesting and informative. I will be a lifelong fan of Paul Elovitz and his work with psychohistory.

About the author

John Fitzpatrick

John J. Fitzpatrick, PhD, received a master’s degree in history from UCLA in 1967 and a doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley in 1975. He began his employment at the Menninger Clinic in 1975, teaching there as well as teaching courses in psychohistory at Kansas State University and the University of Kansas. He trained at the Topeka Institute for Psychoanalysis. While at the Menninger Clinic, Dr. Fitzpatrick consulted executives and organizations and provided seminars on human behavior and motivation to business people at a department initially started by Dr. Harry Levinson. In 1989, he started his own business, the Family Business Resource Center, providing executive and organizational development services as well as succession planning for family-owned businesses.
