Abstract

John D. Krumboltz (1928-2019) was an American counseling psychologist whose revolutionary teaching, theories, research, and practice in career counseling focused on helping people learn and grow from unplanned opportunities throughout their lives. He shared a foundational story of a turn-ing point in his early life for this psychobiography, drawn from a series of interviews with and interpreted by the author, his doctoral mentee and colleague.
