Dear Paul,

I want to thank you for all your hard work and commitment to the development of psychohistory.

The Saturday Workshops, Psychohistory Forum, Clio’s Psyche, psychobiography research, and the papers you wrote have been invaluable tools to our community and me. The evolution of the listserv as another way of communication among us has been an intellectual asset and a source of bonding with others.

How you motivate and lead the organization, your writings, teaching at college-level psychohistory and psychohistorical courses, and so much more are admirable.
I have also been very appreciative of your time and input in editing papers I sent to Clio’s Psyche for publication.

Last but not least, your engaging and warm personality allowed agreements and disagreements to take place in a safe environment. You have always responded in a measured and reflective way, particularly in times of social and political conflict. All this helped build bridges among the members of the International Psychohistorical Association and spread the word about what psychohistory is.

My words are a humble token of appreciation for your work and efforts to inspire us with all that you do and did as well as who you are.

Thanks again for your fantastic work and dedication to the psychohistory community.

Fondly,

Ruth Lijtmaer
