Abstract: This essay seeks to provide an analysis through a narrative account of the days and nights of the Israeli war against Iran, commonly referred to as the Twelve-Day War (June 13-25, 2025), to illustrate how my immediate social circle and I experienced the emotions of anger, anxiety, and fear in Iran. Furthermore, it demonstrates how these emotions have persisted within this climate of global apprehension, remaining latent yet primed to re-emerge at the slightest provocation.

Mehdi, Nourian, PhD, is a graduate of cultural sociology from the University of Guilan, having previously received MAs in American Studies and Cultural Studies from the University of Tehran and the University of Science and Culture. He is the author of Black Resistance: The Intellectual Convergence Between Martin Luther King and Malcolm X (2023, in Persian) and has authored and co-authored numerous pieces that have been published across different academic journals and texts in both English and Persian. This year, he translated Elovitz’ The Making of Psychohistory into Persian.
