Galadriel’s Light: Working on the Mythical Level to Protect Our Environment
Abstract
It is possible to restore democracy in America even though the current administration has decimated many democratic institutions. However, the battlefield is composed of myths that have had the power to divide our body politic. A body politic cannot be healthy if its parts are fighting each other, so people of goodwill should consider not just what ideas are motivating voters to vote against democratic principles of equality, voter representation, science, and the purposes of government, but what real stories can serve as antidotes to the dark effects of misinformation about this democratic republic meant to belong to the People.
