Abstract

After immigration split two med-school friends for ten years, we reconnected as if no minute had passed. This spare ballad-bard Bulat Okudgava’s style-honors friendships that don’t grow old: finishing each other’s sentences, sharing small rituals, and bearing news of losses with a common cup.
