CONFERENCES: The next Psychohistory Forum Work-In-Progress Saturday Seminar will be on January 26, 2008 when Nora O’Brien, Director of Aging Programs and Initiatives at the Brookdale Foundation, and a panel will present on “The Art, Creativity, and Psychology of Aging.” The Future of Psychoanalytic Education Conference, sponsored by a large variety of analytic organizations, is being held in Manhattan at Lycee Francais on December 1-2, 2007. The 31^st Annual International Psychohistorical Association (IPA) conference will be held in Manhattan on June, 2-4, 2008 with the Forum sponsoring panels on the 2008 election candidates and trauma. The next International Society of Political Psychology (ISPP) conference will be held on July 9-12, 2008 at the Sciences Po in Paris. Following that, the 2009 conference will be in Dublin at Trinity College and the 2010 at the Mark Hopkins Hospital in San Francisco. At the Rutgers November 2-4 Association for the Psychoanalysis of Culture and Society (APCS) conference there was a Psychohistory Forum sponsored session with presentations by David Beisel, “Collective Guilt Avoidance and the Case of J. Robert Oppenheimer,” Paul Elovitz, “Confessions of a Psychoanalytic Imperialist,” and Ken Fuchsman, “Oedipal Anxiety in the Age of Blended Families.” David Lotto presented “Advertising and Public Relations as the Bastard Offspring of Psychoanalysis” and Irene Javors was in attendance. Recently, Ken Fuchsman also presented “Disciplinary Realities and Interdisciplinary Prospects” in Tempe, Arizona on September 28, 2007 at the Association of Integrative Studies and “General Education Ideals: Past, Present and Future” and on October 20, 2007 at the Association of General and Liberal Studies. On October 13 the NAAP had its conference, “On Human Freedom: Psychoanalytic Perspectives.

NOTES ON MEMBERS AND PUBLICATIONS: Peter Petschauer, who has been honored by Appalachian State University’s Turchin Center for the Visual Arts, spent several weeks in October traveling in China with his wife, Joni. Dan Dervin recently spent most of a month in Tuscany. Ken Fuchsman’s lengthy “Disciplinary Realities and Interdisciplinary Prospects,” has been published in The Global Spiral, an online publication of the Metanexus Institute, with a circulation of 10,000 readers, which can be accessed at www.metanexus.net/magazine. Dream Telepathy: Experiments in Nocturnal Extrasensory Perception by Montague Ullman et al. was translated into Chinese in 2006 by Sichuan University Press.
