Gun Violence: The Tip of the Iceberg

Abstract

While serial shootings dominate public concern, violence takes many forms-stabbings, beatings, and bombings among them. Yet response efforts have skewed toward intervention over prevention. This essay argues for a preventative approach: safe households, schools, workplaces, and communities, supported by mental health services, research, and education.
