John V. Knapp, PhD, is Professor of English at Northern Illinois University. His publications include Reading the Family Dance: Family Systems Therapy and Literary Study (edited with Kenneth Womack, 2003), Striking at the Joints: Contemporary Psychology and Literary Criticism (1996), and an essay on teaching Animal Farm in College Literature (1996). Prof. Knapp occasionally writes poetry for this journal and may be reached at .
