Karyne E. Messina
Karyne E. Messina, EdD, is a psychologist and a certified psychoanalyst as well as a supervising and training analyst at the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis (WBCP). She is also on the medical staff of Suburban Hospital-Johns Hopkins Medicine-in Bethesda, Maryland. She is on the faculty at the WBCP where she has taught several different courses in the analytic training program. Dr. Messina has also taught infant observation to students in China for the China American Psychoanalytic Affiliation (CAPA) and is the editor of the CAPA newsletter. Her recent books include Misogyny, Projective Identification and Mentalization: Psychoanalytic, Social and Institutional Manifestations (2019) and Aftermath: Healing from the Trump Presidency (2021).
