Robert D. Anderson
Robert D. Anderson, MD, is a retired psychiatrist who lives in the Northwest. Following thirty years of private practice, he now does occasional temporary assignments with Native Americans and inner-city mental hygiene clinics. He is the author of Inside the Mind of Joseph Smith (1999) and of articles in Dialogue and the American Journal of Psychiatry. Dr. Anderson comes from devout Mormon background, has moved past поп-belief to somewhere between agnosticism and atheism, yet sees himself as willing to help the Church in its evolution from fringe cult to mainstream religion when it can tolerate public criticism from within and accept various degrees of belief in Joseph Smith from among its leaders.
